Canterbury Climate Action Partnership brings together community interest groups to educate, energise and empower the community in activities to reduce carbon emissions in the Canterbury District.
It is a unique partnership bringing together key local stakeholders including civil society, youth, faith groups, education institutions, business and local government.
Our mission to reduce carbon emissions:
Educate
Tell people about the severity and urgency of the climate and ecological crisis with clear communication about the need for carbon emissions reduction through a mass communication campaign.
Energise
Motivate, inspire and catalyse community-led decision making towards tangible emissions reduction through targeted involvement primarily in communities least involved in climate action.
Empower
Facilitate communities to implement specific local emissions reduction projects using the partnership expertise and funds.
