Visit to Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School – 15th May 2024

On Wednesday, 15th May,  members of Canterbury Climate Action Partnership joined members of the Canterbury District Biodiversity Network and others for a most inspiring visit to Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School to see their beautiful orchard.  After enjoying tea/coffee and some delicious cakes made by the school’s kitchen staff, we set off on our tour of the orchard, the highlights of which are the willow arbour, where students can spend some quiet time reading or just reflecting, the amazing wildlife pond and the extensive provision for wildlife including bat boxes.

A big thank you to Becky, Sam and Jemima for making us so welcome and such an informative visit.  We look forward to hearing more from Becky about her plans for an Earthshot Prize for youth.
